Galestown's population has fluctuated over the years, as shown in the following census data:

Town Government

The town is governed by a Town Commission, whose members are elected by Galestown residents to two-year terms each September. The current Commission members are:

  • Ronald L. James, President (chosen by Commission for a 1-year term)

  • Linda M. James

  • Kay E. Littleton

Their terms expire in 2025.
